Initially Betty was a caricature of singer Helen Kane. The character was originally created as a personified French poodle. Betty Boop became a human character in 1932, in the cartoon Any Rags. Betty's voice was first performed by Margie Hines and later on performed by several voice actresses (Kate Wright, Bonnie Poe and Mae Questel) Mae Questel was Betty Boop' voice since 1931 until her death in 1998. There are many Betty Boop films and I love them all!
